I bought Dream Bone Treats for my dog and my sister's 2 dogs because they weren't made of rawhide so I thought they'd be safe for them. All 3 dogs loved them and always looked forward to them, after eating them for 4 months they ended up... See More getting sick with vomiting and loose stools. I told my sister it has to be the treats that's the only thing different that they've all eaten and we immediately stopped giving them to our dogs and thankfully the symptoms stopped. I have a hard time finding treats for them because they're so finiky, any suggestions as to other dog treats would greatly be appreciated. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting See Less

I feel do dumb because my dog was sick like early in 2022 and didn't think it was the treats. I have given him these and the earth animal no hide but have since learned they are not great. I have heard several times that carrots are a better alternative but you have make sure the size of the carrots are appropriate and like always have your dog in eye view while they crunch on carrots. It's also supposed to be great for his vision.

I give my beagles treats by the company, NUTRO, Natural Choice Crunchy Treats with Real Mixed Berries, made with NON-GMO Ingredients (Natural with Minerals and Trace Nutrients). My beagles love the Real Mixed Berries treat because blueberries are their favorite. My husband and I love giving them treats that are healthy for them. These treats are made with: Whole Brown Rice, Oatmeal, Chicken Meal, Cane Molasses, Sunflower Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols),Rosemary Extract, Dried blueberries, dried cherries, dried cranberries, Natural flavors and preserved with mixed Tocopherols. My oldest beagle was born with a very sensitive stomach and can only have limited treats. These treats work best with his sensitive stomach. Nutro makes these Crunchy treats in several flavors using all natural ingredients: Apple 🍎 Treats, Carrot 🥕 Treats, Banana 🍌 Treats, Chicken 🐔 and Carrot 🥕 Treats and the Real Mixed Berries (🫐blueberries, cherries🍒, and cranberries). My husband and I have found that many treats through Nutro work well with our beagles. For a bone-like treat( looks like toothbrush), we occasionally offer our beagles, a Greenies Dental Treat, regular
size (dogs weighing 25-50 lbs). If we do give them a Greenie treat, it is once a month at most. We don't want to change one of our beagles diet too much because his stomach is sensitive. If you do try Greenies make sure you get the right size for your dog. That is very important. If it's too small, the dog could eat too fast and choke. If it's too big, the Greenie could be too much for their stomach to break down and it can cause diarrhea and stomach pain. Always make sure, you get the right size based on dogs weight. I always stick with Original Greenies too. I do not buy flavored kinds because of my one beagles stomach issues. I wish you and your puppy all the best. Please check with your Veterinarian about treats and bones. They can be a big help too.

I have contacted Dream Bone several times and nobody will respond to me. My great pyranese and Yorkshire terrier both became deathly I’ll immediately after consuming dream bone rawhides. I auto order these from chewy and have never had a problem now both of my dogs who... See More differ from breed/size/weight are deathly Ill! I’m extremely angry over this after reading recent media reports about this product and the company will not respond to complaints or concerns. This is inexcusable behavior and this company needs to be held reliable. If my dogs don’t recover I’m going to every media outlet and then some to make sure other dogs are not harmed by this product. I’m going to get LOUD about this, these are our fur babies and this company’s silence is a huge F*** you to us!!!! See Less

Gave our 2 Shih Tzu’s Dreambones, both dogs were vomiting with bloody diarrhea. Had to take them to the vet multiple times. We bought Dreambones thinking it was a safe alternative to raw hides and come to find out they had poisoned our dogs. These need to come off the shelf!! | Symptoms: Vomiting, Bloody Stool See Less

Our little 10lb doggie loves these things. He’s a picky eater and doesn’t like too many treats but loves the DreamBones, as well as a few other no-hide rawhides. Well, we gave him one one night and he woke up at 2am shaking uncontrollably and couldn’t stand,... See More let alone walk. He vomited a little with a bit of diarrhea but was mainly just lethargic. We rushed him in at 8am as soon as the vet opened. She said it was the highest fever she’s ever seen in a dog and took all the tests and blood work. They couldn’t see anything, but put him on an IV for 5 hrs eventually sending us to an Emergency Vet Hospital vet 60 miles away, in Portland Oregon. Long story short….the ER vet told us they would have to cut him open in an emergency surgery for approx $8000 right then and there to see what was going on. They did all the tests that the first vet did, gave him blood, etc and could not tell anything until they got in there to see. We don’t have that money, as we had already spent $800 at the first vet and we were already into $800 with this one…and he was 13 1/2 at the time so I said no, we could not do it as we didn’t have the money. I explained to to my daughter and it was awful. They then said we need to put him down right then and there to put him out of his suffering. It was during Covid and we were waiting in the parking lot so I told the Dr we wanted to see him first. Of course we were all sobbing and in disbelief as he was so healthy. When we opened the door, he then just wanted in our arms. It was then that we told the Dr that if he was going to die, he would die at home, with us. They scolded us, told us we were doing the wrong thing, made us sign papers that they would not be held responsible, etc. Well, the next day he started recovering and 1 1/2 years later is still with us! We could only think that it must have been the DreamBone he had so we held off giving him anymore. About two weeks later and him begging and begging for one, we finally did it….gave him a small one and same thing….got deathly ill with a fever, lethargic and shaking uncontrollably. It was unreal. It lasted a few days and then fine. Again, about 6 mo after that, a family member gave him one and same thing! We know it’s from the DreamBones. They agreed with him for a few years and then, all of a sudden, could not handle them anymore. No treats for this guy:( See Less

She's eaten these treats for most of her 3.5 year life. The week before Christmas she ate a twist and became very ill. Severe stomach pain, lethargy and hadn't eaten now for nearly a week.

I've been buying dreambone twists for over 3 years. My dog loves... See More them. The week before Christmas she got a twist and she became extremely ill. She had severe stomach pain, she could hardly walk from the pain, when picked up, she would cry in pain. She hadn't eaten for over a week. I took her to the vet. They took an xray and after over a week they could still see pieces of the rawhide in her system. She's still lethargic and eating very little even after antibiotics, gastric mobility meds and appetite stimulaters. I'm praying she continues to improve. | Symptoms: Stomach Pain, Gas See Less

SunSprout Enterprises is voluntarily recalling two lots (#4211 and 5211) of raw alfalfa sprouts in 4-ounce clamshells, with best-by dates between 12/10/22 and 12/27/22, due to potential contamination with Salmonella. The company directly distributed 808 pounds of product to five food service and grocery customers in Nebraska,... See More Kansas, and Iowa between late November and early December 2022. To date, SunSprout has received no complaints or reports of illness due to this recalled product.

The alfalfa sprouts are available in the produce section of grocery stores. The lot code and best buy date can be found on the front of the package. No other SunSprout lot codes or products are impacted by this voluntary recall. The raw alfalfa sprouts are packaged in 4-ounce clamshells with best buy dates between 12/10/2022 and 12/27/2022 and lot codes #4211 and 5211.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

This voluntary recall is a result of a preliminary investigation by the State of Nebraska in connection with CDC of an outbreak of illness likely associated with alfalfa sprouts. SunSprout, out of an abundance of caution, is initiating this voluntary recall while it further investigates how this alfalfa product was handled and stored after it left its Nebraska facility.

Customers with product from this lot number in their possession should stop using it and dispose of it immediately. Consumers are also encouraged to follow all safe handling instructions and wash their hands and all preparation surfaces after handling any raw product.

In case you are experiencing Salmonella symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
