Safety Report: Dream Bone Treats, Las Cruces, NM, USA

Dream Bone Treats, Las Cruces, NM, USA

Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States

I bought Dream Bone Treats for my dog and my sister's 2 dogs because they weren't made of rawhide so I thought they'd be safe for them. All 3 dogs loved them and always looked forward to them, after eating them for 4 months they ended up getting sick with vomiting and loose stools. I told my sister it has to be the treats that's the only thing different that they've all eaten and we immediately stopped giving them to our dogs and thankfully the symptoms stopped. I have a hard time finding treats for them because they're so finiky, any suggestions as to other dog treats would greatly be appreciated. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting

I feel do dumb because my dog was sick like early in 2022 and didn't think it was the treats. I have given him these and the earth animal no hide but have since learned they are not great. I have heard several times that carrots are a better alternative but you have make sure the size of the carrots are appropriate and like always have your dog in eye view while they crunch on carrots. It's also supposed to be great for his vision.

I give my beagles treats by the company, NUTRO, Natural Choice Crunchy Treats with Real Mixed Berries, made with NON-GMO Ingredients (Natural with Minerals and Trace Nutrients). My beagles love the Real Mixed Berries treat because blueberries are their favorite. My husband and I love giving them treats that are healthy for them. These treats are made with: Whole Brown Rice, Oatmeal, Chicken Meal, Cane Molasses, Sunflower Oil (preserved with mixed Tocopherols),Rosemary Extract, Dried blueberries, dried cherries, dried cranberries, Natural flavors and preserved with mixed Tocopherols. My oldest beagle was born with a very sensitive stomach and can only have limited treats. These treats work best with his sensitive stomach. Nutro makes these Crunchy treats in several flavors using all natural ingredients: Apple 🍎 Treats, Carrot 🥕 Treats, Banana 🍌 Treats, Chicken 🐔 and Carrot 🥕 Treats and the Real Mixed Berries (🫐blueberries, cherries🍒, and cranberries). My husband and I have found that many treats through Nutro work well with our beagles. For a bone-like treat( looks like toothbrush), we occasionally offer our beagles, a Greenies Dental Treat, regular size (dogs weighing 25-50 lbs). If we do give them a Greenie treat, it is once a month at most. We don't want to change one of our beagles diet too much because his stomach is sensitive. If you do try Greenies make sure you get the right size for your dog. That is very important. If it's too small, the dog could eat too fast and choke. If it's too big, the Greenie could be too much for their stomach to break down and it can cause diarrhea and stomach pain. Always make sure, you get the right size based on dogs weight. I always stick with Original Greenies too. I do not buy flavored kinds because of my one beagles stomach issues. I wish you and your puppy all the best. Please check with your Veterinarian about treats and bones. They can be a big help too.
