According to Evergy, as of 7:15 p.m. Jan 13, more than 11,800 customers were without power. About an hour and a half later, the outages were reduced to 2,582. By 9:30 p.m., was affecting 1,073 customers as temperatures dropped well below freezing on Saturday evening.
Power outages were reported affecting about 856 Evergy customers, including many businesses on the east side of town in Manhattan in Riley County. At least two stoplights were out at that time. In northeast Kansas, Emporia, Topeka, and Lawrence continue to see power outages.
On Tuesday 9th, Osage County is digging out from under a winter storm. As of 10 a.m. Freestate Electrical Cooperative reported 229 customers remained without power in Osage County and Evergy reported 557 customers.
