Storms with lightning and high wind moved through the Wichita area early Tuesday, August 13. The storms caused power outages in the west, central, and southeast parts of the city. As of 7:45 a.m., Evergy was reporting nearly 3,900 outages in Sedgwick County. The City of Derby reported a downed power line has closed Patriot Avenue between Buckner and Commerce.
