There are approximately 20 people in a small office located in Chandler Hospital - University of Kentucky Healthcare on a dailiy basis. Some employees are in and ot of the office as they are going to different locations in the hospital. There are probably 15 employees at
t heir desks all day. Since COVID-19 hit, there have been multiple requests to work from home with denials every time. Employee has doctor's notes recommending they stay home because they are a caregiver for a family member at very high risk. Work can be performed 100% from remote locations. Upper management was in a small conference room every day. No masks were worn, vry close proximity to each other and approximately 6-7 people in there at all times. The physical workspace has not been adequately cleaned with greater detail to ensure safety. Employees have only received 2 aerosol cans of Lysol disinfectant in mid March. They took requests to get cleaning supplies and they still have not appropriately supplied anything to the employees. Still no sanitizing supplies for each desk upon multiple requests. No one has been allowed to rotate coming in, literally no change in business operations or any consideration of CDC, Federal, State, Local and UK institution guidelines. A request to work in a single office space in the hospital has not been fulfilled either. not updated by management on that, or any other options they have provided. On May 8, 2020, the office had a farewell luncheon for an employee. Food was catered and people gathered in the very small conference room to eat and socialize. Another egregious willful misconduct of the COVID prevention and social distancing guidelines. Employee feels very unsafe in their workspace. The employee's management does not believe in the credible threat and almost denies the risks altogether. Employee was told that the place where there are 20 people not distanced for 8 hours a day is the safest place they can be. The workspace has not been reconfigured or any efforts to ensure safety. Employee has requested measures multiple times to the direct supervisor and escalated this to the Director with the same response. HR has gotten the same response, and has completely denied medial professional opinion and documentation for the request to work from home.
