Thousands of customers in central Minnesota are without power Wednesday afternoon following a quick round of severe weather. Xcel Energy says 500 customers lost power around 11:45 Wednesday morning. The outage appeared to be centered around Riverside Avenue and 27th Street North. Crews were dispatched to the area around noon. Meanwhile, 1,900 Wright Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association customers are also without power.
