Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, WAUBONSEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, RT. 47 AT WAUBONSEE DRIVE, SUGAR GROVE, IL, 60554, USA

4 years ago business

4S783 Illinois 47, Sugar Grove, 60554 Illinois, United States

No plans to restrict building access to those who are fully vaccinated or are testing weekly either through access passes, holds on registration, or limited entryways per governor's mandate to expel all those who do not comply. No wellness tables staffing for spot temperature checks or screening for those who do not know our policy of self-screening before coming to our open campus. Lack of adequate mask supplies at entryways and specialty clear masks. No enforcement of masking except by filing complaints with student conduct which take several days or weeks to be addressed. Return to pre-pandemic classroom configurations beginning with the Fall 2021 semester thus no physical distancing is in effect in classrooms, only advice not to congregate in hallways or common areas or students have to request distancing. Imposition of on campus presence on full time faculty regardless of health for at least two classes, office hours, and committee work unless exempt through formal ADA accommodations. No practicing of health equity for our brown and black students or for faculty with high risk loads. On August 30, 2021, Executive Order 2021-20 was issued by the governor's office which includes Section 4 that covers mandates pertaining to institutions of higher education. While IL OSHA cannot directly enforce this executive order, the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Act requires employers to protect employees from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to its employees (820 ILCS 219/20(a)). Employers that violate this section of the Act may be cited and/or referred to another regulatory authority.
