T8 CCR 3328(g). Machinery and Equipment. The conveyor located across a cat walk in the packing house is not being maintained in a safe operating condition. The conveyor falls off and it hits employees who are working below the area. T8 CCR 3999(b). Conveyors, and T8 CCR 4075(a). Gears and Sprockets. Once or twice per day, employees suffer due to unguarded belts and gears of the sorting machine. T8 CCR 3203(a)(4) and (6). Injury and Illness Prevention. The Employer is not enforcing social distancing of at least six-feet apart between employees to prevent employee exposure to the COVID-19 virus. In addition, the Employer does not disinfect work areas to help prevent the spread of the virus. Five to ten employees per day are reporting testing positive for the COVID-19 virus. T8 CCR 3362(g). General Requirements. There is mold in the packing house building. T8 CCR 3366(a). Washing Facilities. Handwashing facilities are not located near employee work areas. T8 CCR 3363(a). Water Supply. The Employer does not provide an adequate amount of potable water for employees to drink during their shift. T8 CCR 3225(a). Maintenance and Access to Exits. The emergency exits in the packing house are inadequate and not readily accessible the 100 employees who work in the packing house. One of the emergency exits is a loading dock that requires employees to jump six to eight-feet down to exit the packinghouse. And, another emergency exit is an old, poorly-maintained stairway that is not equipped with a handrail. T8 CCR 3668(a). Powered Industrial Truck Operator Training, and 3650(t). Industrial Trucks. General. Forklift drivers at the facility are not competent to operate forklifts. Forklift drivers drive too fast, run over employees' feet and drop pallets on employees' feet.
