A boil order is in effect for an area of Rock Island Wednesday evening due to an emergency water main repair. The city says water will be shut off at around 5:30 p.m. for those living in Bowers Addition, which is the subdivision that is just north of Blackhawk Road off of 44th Street and "everything south" of Blackhawk Road from 38th to 44th streets.
