come off if you are alone in your room or office with the door closed. People are not following this rule at all and are routinely working with their masks off and their doors opened. This has been observed several times at both North Aurelius Elementary and the Harvey Education Center. Staff members are wearing masks incorrectly and proper use of masks is not being enforced 2) Yesterday, a teacher completed the health screener and had two or more symptoms of COVID. She asked the principal if she should go home, and he said, "we can't have people home for 3 days every time they get sick" and she was encouraged to stay. She did not stay, however, because another teacher complained. Yesterday a different teacher complained of symptoms and asked if she should go home, and our principal asked her, "do you think your headache will go away?" and encouraged her to stay. She did stay the entire day. Today a staff member in the learning lab is visibly sick and coughing repeatedly. Several staff members have observed her symptoms and felt very concerned. When a staff member questioned the principal about this, he indicated that "she says it's just a sinus infection." When another staff member questioned him about this he said in an email, "it is the responsibility of each staff member to complete the daily screener and determine their fitness to be at work. I do worry with cold and flu season approaching if everyone with a sniffle and headache gets screened out - that could be problematic to our daily operations."
