About 16,500 customers and several traffic signals in Richland lost power for hours overnight after a car crash tore out several wires supporting power poles. The crash happened shortly after 11:30 p.m. when a car heading north on Stevens Drive near Saint Street and cut through a wire supporting a Bonneville Power Administration transmission pole, sending power lines and transformers crashing to the ground.Outage link: www.bpa.gov/learn-and-participate/community-education/hydropower-101/power-outages
