Went to take our 4 day old baby in for bilirubin testing. We were given a STAT order and told by the pediatrician that we would be taken back immediately when we arrive and wouldn’t have to wait. When we arrived the waiting room was completely full. I had my husband wait outside with the baby down the outdoor corridor away from the location because there were so many people and the fear of my newborn being exposed to covid. I went into the location and there were no seats left and people packed into the waiting room. There was also a line to check in. There were people waiting in a crowd outside the door because there was no room left in the waiting area. They didn’t do any symptom checking or temperature checking at the door. There was no social distancing. There were people coughing in the waiting room yet nobody asked them to leave. One of the coughing individuals ran out of the waiting room while removing their mask to cough outside (in the middle of the crowd of people). We were not seen immediately and made to wait outside down several yards from the door of the location in the cold. We should have been seen immediately. They should be taking better precautions at this location. I worry I was exposed to covid in this waiting area while checking in. They shouldn’t be allowing people with symptoms of covid into the building. I don’t think they were sanitizing anything in the actual rooms where you get blood drawn as there was a used blood vile on the counter in the room we were being seen. The phlebotomist tried to discretely dispose of it but I saw what it was. They for sure aren’t sanitizing anything in the waiting area. This needs to be reported to the health department in Arizona. This is absolute negligence of Sonora Quest Labs.
