However, the most extreme conditions are expected in Death Valley, where temperatures might exceed an astounding 130 degrees Fahrenheit. Nighttime lows are also predicted to remain excessively high, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees even after the sun sets
A coast-to-coast heat dome has blanketed vast portions of the western and southern United States, enveloping states from Washington to New Mexico and extending from Arizona and California to Texas and Florida. Over 100 million people find themselves within the grip of this oppressive heat, which has prompted excessive-heat watches, warnings, and heat advisories in 15 states.
