The Federal Trade Commission reported that the number of complaints about scams involving ads on Facebook and other social media has more than tripled in the past year. A recent Reuters investigation revealed that Meta projected it would earn approximately $16 billion from advertising for scams and banned goods. Facebook exposes users to an estimated 15 billion fraudulent ads daily.

I ordered several articles of clothing off an ad I saw on Facebook; it represented itself as a JC Penny 90% off clearance sale. I paid $43.58 in June and still have not gotten anything.
