Reports indicated a loss of power in East Texas as temperatures remained below freezing Wednesday morning. In Gregg County north of Kilgore, more than 1,500 customers were without power starting around 5:45 a.m. At the time of this writing, the estimated time of restoration was 10 a.m.
In Smith County, more than 984 Oncor customers were without power. Close to 700 of those customers were in the Whitehouse area, with an estimated restoration time of 11:30 a.m. In Anderson County, close to 900 Oncor customers were without power. Power is expected to be restored by 12:30 p.m. More than 800 customers without power in Henderson County, and more than 470 customers without power in Angelina County. Restoration estimates were unavailable for these areas.
