Nearly 6,000 customers lost power Monday evening in Monroe County as a result of storms in the area. Around 8:30 p.m., PPL was reporting 3,832 customers without power in Monroe County, with the bulk of outages in Polk (1,867 customers) and Stroud (1,361) townships. Additional outages were reported in Barrett (16), Chestnuthill (22), Jackson (48), Pocono (363), Tobyhanna (seven), and Tunkhannock (148) townships. Restoration times ranged from 3:30 to 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Around the same time, Met-Ed was reporting 2,088 customers without power in Monroe County, primarily in Hamilton Township (1,771).Met-Ed: outages.firstenergycorp.com/pa.html
