Severe thunderstorms were moving through the South Plains and Panhandle early Wednesday evening, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and the threat of tornadoes. According to Lubbock Power & Light, about 3,000 customers were affected shortly before 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
