Area police departments have been inundated with calls about downed trees and power lines down as a result of severe thunderstorms with radar-indicated winds of up to 70 miles per hour moved through early Saturday night. Ameren is reporting more than three thousand customers in the Centralia area without power. In addition, Ameren is reporting 1,200 without power in the Sandoval area, 185 without power in the Irvington area, and 68 in the Hoffman area. Just two customers are reported out in Salem.
