Regulatory Report
555 South Eola Road, Aurora, 60504 Illinois, United States
Mask signs are posted but we have been told as a staff NOT to enforce it. When I enforced the signs (just like I enforce the NO GUNS signs - for my own and others safety), I was reprimanded for doing so. NO ONE is being told to wear masks and we are a community hub. We also house SEVERAL activities for children under 12 who are not vaccinated, so masks should be enforced as if we were a school. Instead we have been told to NOT enforce them. There is no regulation whatsoever even though the staff's safety is being threatened. It has also created issues where now customers have to confront each other, leading to unsafe working conditions. If were are not enforcing the masks, how do I know we are enforcing the NO GUNS signs as well. It is a free for all. Hazard Location: The entire Eola Community Center - particularly focusing on areas in the fitness center and in/near any preschool rooms. On August 30, 2021, Executive Order 2021-20 was issued by the governor's office which states all individuals in Illinois who are age two or over and able to medically tolerate a face covering (a mask or cloth face covering) shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a face covering when in an indoor public place. Illinoisans should also consider wearing a mask in crowded outdoor settings and for activities that involve close contact with others who are not fully vaccinated. While IL OSHA cannot directly enforce this executive order, the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Act requires employers to protect employees from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to its employees (820 ILCS 219/20(a)). Employers that violate this section of the Act may be cited and/or referred to another regulatory authority. We understand you have communicated the requirements of the executive order. We ask that you provide documented evidence of enforcing the executive order.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2021-11-03
