Regulatory Report

8781 Randolph Road Northeast, Moses Lake, 98837 Washington, United States

Not following mandated guidelines for Coronavirus PPE. In early March there were mandatory PPE guidelines put in place by the CDC, resulting in several employee s being continually exposed and potentially contracting the Coronavirus. In a meeting held by supervisors, during this meeting supervisor stated that it is mandatory that you wear these masks, but I don t like them either so if you get caught by someone outside of maintenance not wearing one, you won t get in trouble by me". Further he stated just keep a mask in your pocket and that he will consider that following the rules. On or about June 13th, 2020, a coworker was diagnosed with Covid-19, this person had worked directly with several of the employees. As I understand, he informed our supervisors and HR about his positive test on Sunday. After lunch on Tuesday maintenance workers were brought into the conference room and was told by PII and HR that they had come into direct contact with a coworker that had tested positive for Covid-19, asked if they wanted to be tested and told to write out a statement of interaction and sent back out on the floor to finish out their shift. After being told of the positive test and the exposure they spent an additional 2+ hours out on the floor interacting with other employees before they excused them to go get tested. It is very concerning to me that, even after someone had tested positive for the virus and during the time that they were in an enclosed office with PII being told of the exposure, he still was not adhering to the CDC's mask policy. It was told that someone who came in contact with this employee had tested positive from this exposure at SGL and became very ill. This employee did not return to work for 2.5 months. To date they have implemented taking temperatures but are still not actively enforcing the mask policy which continues to put many employees at risk each day.
