A COVID-Positive patient who was being admitted to the hospital was allowed to have his COVID-Positive wife come up to stay with him overnight. The wife is not a patient and there was no medical need for the wife to be present with the patient. According to
the California Dept. of Public Health policy, visitors and anyone who has COVID or symptoms are not supposed to come up to the unit. That wife knew she was positive for COVID and was ill prior, and was still allowed into the ED and up to the unit with the patient. (Title 8 CCR Section 5199) Located at the 6th Floor (Telemetry)

1. Employer did not give notice to employees on the potential exposure to a COVID-19 positive case within a reasonable timeframe. T8 CCR 3205(c)(3)(B)3, or in the alternative T8 CCR 5199(h)(6)(C)2. 2. Employer did not implement work practice protocols to conduct a deep cleaning and disinfection of
the work areas, materials, and equipment used by a positive COVID-19 case to minimize and prevent exposures to transmission of aerosol transmissible pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. T8 CCR 3205(c)(8)(C)(3, or in the alternative T8 CCR 5199(e)(2). 3. Employer did not offer testing at no cost to employees who were exposed to a positive COVID-19 case in the workplace. T8 CCR 3205(c)(3)(B)4, or in the alternative T8 CCR 5199(h)(6)(c)3. 4. employer did not ensure to exclude employees from the workplace who may have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case. T8 CCR 3205(c)(10)(B), or in the alternative T8 CCR 5199(h)(8). 5. Employer is not allowing enough free space inside the optical department to allow for proper physical distancing between patrons/members and employees. The employer did not ensure to reduce the number of patrons to allow for physical distance of at least 6 feet between persons at all times. T8 CCR 3205(c)(6)(A), or in the alternative T8 CCR 5199(e)(1).
