A COVID-Positive patient who was being admitted to the hospital was allowed to have his COVID-Positive wife come up to stay with him overnight. The wife is not a patient and there was no medical need for the wife to be present with the patient. According to the California Dept. of Public Health policy, visitors and anyone who has COVID or symptoms are not supposed to come up to the unit. That wife knew she was positive for COVID and was ill prior, and was still allowed into the ED and up to the unit with the patient. (Title 8 CCR Section 5199) Located at the 6th Floor (Telemetry)
