DreamBone Dog Treats

There have been claims of harm to dogs after eating DreamBone treats. A 2016 lawsuit against the company stated the product contains Sorbitol as the third ingredient, which is classified by the FDA, as an indigestible sugar alcohol. The suit was dismissed after the parties settled out of court.

Dream Bone dog treats, Jackson, KY, USA

We have been giving our dogs these treats, being advertised as a healthy alternative to raw hide. Our oldest female Chihuahua became ill on a Thursday evening. We contacted our vet and where advised to monitor her behavior and change her diet for twenty four hours. She … See More
was vomiting and would not eat. Then diarrhea came. It was very bloody and had yellow in it with mucous. She was panting and trying to hide. The next morning her symptoms had become more severe. Our vet suggested we take her to an emergency hospital. Her kidney’s where failing and she was in diabetic shock. We where told with her age and symptoms she had a 5% chance to make it. She passed that morning. She was over 15 years old. She was part of our family. We trusted Dream Bones to be safe, do not be deceived!!! They are not safe and the FDA should start holding these companies accountable. There are no regulations on pet foods or treats! We should do better. Our furbabies deserve better standards. These bones poisoned all of our dogs and caused death in one. The company that markets these did treats need to be held accountable. Laws need to change and our pets need to be protected!  | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting, Bloody Stool, Mucus in Stools

October 2022 I bought the dreambone pretzel sticks. Thinking nothing of it as both my Morkies never got sick from other types of dreambones. My one Morkie, Suzie, was 4 months old. She started throwing up bile the next day. Bile turned into blood. She then started … See More
to have bloody diarrhea all through the house. She only weighed 2 pounds and I was a wreck, she wouldn’t eat or drink anything, only wanted rest. I rushed her to Avets animal hospital as soon as I could (her vet would not take her because they said I didn’t have enough money) where she spent 3 nights on an IV and received many medicines along with X-rays. These “cheap treats” turned into a $4,359 vet bill along with horrible anxiety that the vet would call me and say she didn’t make it. Luckily our strong little fighter made it. She is now over a year old and loving life. I now have my girls on a very strict diet. Very sad that this company still exists and can make such garbage!  | Symptoms: Bloody Stool, Bile

Dream bone, Port Jervis, NY, USA

I have been giving my 5 month old teddy poo dream bones for about a week and a half she usually just bites on them and hides them around the house without actually eating them, well she finally started eating them, two nights ago she was hacking … See More
like she had something stuck so I gave her some water she was still hacking but finally stopped a couple minutes later, was fine into next day until around 4 she started hacking again then stopped but then started like she was going to throw up. She threw up big long pieces of these bones and yellow bile. She then went under the bed and collapsed not able to move and twitching (which the vet believes was a seizure) she came about ten minutes later but could still not move and body was swaying back and forth when she would pick up her head which her head would then just drop back down even though you could see she was fighting to try and get it up, she was hardly breathing. I rushed her to the emergency vet where they did blood work, liver tests, poison check, the whole nine yards and it was all clear, just for that and the visit fee plus an iv for hydration cost me 900 dollars which was every dime I had to my name so I did not even have enough for them to do an x-ray or keep her over night. It is now the next day and she is more lively than she was but still very lathargic and not wanting to eat, her eyes are very bloodshot and she is what looks like to be pushing out her lower show and consistently showing her bottom teeth. Her eyes look so sad and I know that these bones are what did this to my poor puppy. I got her for my now 3 yr old for her birthday, her dad died and he wanted to get her a puppy when she turned 3 so I took again the only money I had besides 300 extra I had left over and bought her a dog ($2,000). I will be borrowing the money tomorrow from a family member to bring her to my normal vet for x-rays and to get confirmed that it was the bones (even though I know it was) once I do I will be taking to court. These bones should not be aloud on the shelves!!!!! Why are they after so many dogs have died?!? So many injured and deathly sick from these! This is outrageous.  | Symptoms: Vomiting, Dehydration, Bile
