Public Works office consolidation 230 Davidson Woodland, WA 98674 The city is currently in the process of closing their Public Works office and are consolidating 3 additional employees and their associated records into the location at 230 Davidson Avenue. They are moving 3 existing employees out of
a 24x17' socially distanced office into a 28x17' front area that already contains 3 work stations, making 6 workstations total. At a time when employees should be moved further apart, employees are being pushed closer to each other. This will expose 6 employees to additional risk of COVID exposure; even with mitigation. These work stations are being moved and combined to make a "records room". The city has other facilities where records can be kept. This consolidation during the time of pandemic is unnecessary and dangerous. A "mini-remodel" has been ongoing in the lobby area. Employees have asked for plans and/or drawings and have been told that none are available. Unpermitted electrical work is also occurring. The HVAC in the building was installed in 1978 and is inadequate to provide the necessary ventilation required to consolidate so many people in one area safely as well. Air quality is often stagnant as it currently exists with smells from the back of the building lingering in the front. Employees have requested HVAC be evaluated for COVID compliance and this has not been done to date. The move will also require an employee to relocate into an area up next to a bank of floor-to-ceiling , single pane windows that will make that area subject to extreme heat and cold depending on the season. No environmental mitigation will be provided. We are requesting an inspection and investigation into this dangerous situation.
