1. There is absolutely NO staggering of passing time or lunches. Students are eating lunch 10 students to a table, obviously without masks. 2. We have been instructed to sanitize our students' desks at the end of each class, by spraying hand sanitizer on each desk. When … See More
we began to quickly run out of sanitizer, we were told to only use one spray on each desk. We were also emailed a video on how to sanitize our students' desks. The video demonstrates spraying one spray per desk. It then instructs us to use C-fold paper towels to wipe surfaces that "need wiping." It does not, however, explain what those surfaces are. 3. There is not any social distancing in place at the school in which I am employed. I have an average of 30 students (face-to-face) in each of my classes. While there are plexi-glass dividers on each table of two, there is nothing in between students who are in front of/behind other students, who are far less than six feet apart. 4. We have had ONE email that told us to report any feelings of unsafe working conditions to another person in our central administration office. I am not sure if this is protocol but I will speak for myself and several of my co-workers, that we do not feel comfortable expressing these concerns with administration, for fear of retaliation. There has been no other information provided as far as reporting unsafe working conditions. Based on this complaint, we are conducting an off-site complaint investigation. We do not intend to initiate an on-site inspection currently. As part of the off-site complaint investigation, you are requested to perform a self-audit of the alleged hazardous conditions and take appropriate steps to protect employee health, including complying with the MIOSHA Emergency Rules for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). We ask that you complete these steps within two workdays of the date of this letter.
