A small-plane crash near the San Rafael Airport killed one occupant, left another in critical condition, and cut electrical service throughout the area, authorities said. The crash happened at about 11 p.m. Saturday. According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office and the San Rafael Fire Department. Responders found the wreckage in the wetlands with power lines around it. The preliminary investigation determined that the plane’s tail fin had struck the utility lines before the plane reached into the ground.
