Simpsonville, South Carolina, United States

A major outage left thousands in the dark Wednesday night in parts of Greenville County and Spartanburg County. According to Laurens Electric, the outage was due to equipment failure involving Duke Energy and was impacting multiple substations. Power was out in areas from Mauldin, Simpsonville, and Five Forks to near Roper Mountain Road. Around 19,000 Laurens Electric customers were without power at one point.
