Duke Energy reported power outages impacting about 25,000 customers in their North Carolina service area on Saturday afternoon, August 3rd. The following areas were affected:
Williamsboro, Vance County: 2,163 customers affected. The outage was caused by fallen trees or limbs damaging electric equipment. Nashville, Nash County: about 4,000 customers affected. The cause of the outage is unknown at this time. Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte, Mecklenburg County: 2,883 customers affected. The outage was caused by an object coming into contact with power lines. Pittsboro, Chatham County: 2,341 customers affected. Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, Alamance County: 466 customers affected. Doughton, Wilkes County: 1,141 customers affected.
