Strong storms that moved through Tuesday night, July 30 caused power outages in North Carolina. Over 8,000 customers had lost power in Mecklenburg County before midnight. Half of those are in the Cotswold area along Sharon Amity Road, with another 2,000 on Mount Holly Road near Pine Island Country Club. About 1,000 customers in the Charlotte area remained without power Wednesday morning, July 31. According to the outage map power has been restored.Outage link: outagemap.duke-energy.com/
