More than 500 customers lost power around the Wilmington area due to a storm that rolled in at approximately 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 7. Just before 10:30 p.m., Duke Energy Progress reported that 563 customers were without power in the Wilmington area. 949 customers were also without power in Pender County in the Burgaw, Hampstead and Castle Hayne areas.
