I was a recipient of the Pfizer vaccine the week the EUAs were granted and just received the second dose today, about 1/2 an hour ago. Happy to post this to include symptoms and answer any questions. For what it’s worth, my symptoms following the first shot have been a sore arm (maximum of 3/10 pain after 16 hours), and fatigue about six hours post-injection. Really looking forward to another bout of sore-arm and any other signs of vaccination!!!
It’s been 7 hours since I received the vaccine and there’s “sensation” at the injection site- like 0.05/10 pain. Not tired or feverish and I haven’t taken any analgesics.
At 13 hours following the vaccine, I'm going to head to bed (earlier than usual). It's fatigue, but in a ""I could go to bed"", rather than a ""I can't go on"" sort of way. Arm pain is here (woo!), and it's hovering around a 1.5/10; mild discomfort, but not distracting). There might also be a tiny bit of swelling in an axillary lymph node close to the injection site that also is not distracting.
Went to bed with with mild chills and fever. Woke up around 6 hours later with a sublingual (under the tongue) temperature of 100.3ºF, and was thirsty. Went back to bed and slept for another 4 hours. Fever has settled to 99.7ºF. There's a low-grade headache (like, 1/10), little pain at the injection site (1/10) and a bit of discomfort in the axillary region close to the injection site (3/10?). No night sweats. Bear in mind that these reactions could very well be controlled with some Tylenol, but I'm going to ride it out and see how long the reactions potentially persist for.
Currently at 48 hours following the second injection. Fatigue is gone. Fever has subsided– I have a sublingual temperature of 97.6ºF. No headache. There's still some discomfortable persisting in the axillary region, and there's very minor pain at the injection site (0.05/10 again). All is looking good!
