Regulatory Report

Covid-19 OSHA Complaint, Boars Head Provisions Co., Inc, 2230 Wyatts Mill Road, JARRATT, VA, 23867, USA

5 years ago business

2230 Wyatts Mill Road, Jarratt, 23867 Virginia, United States

1. The employer is allowing employees to continue working inside the facility while sick (coughing, sneezing, sore throat, etc.). 2. The Packaging Department is experiencing a large outbreak causing many of the employees to be out of work. The employer is taking employees from other departments to fill in. When employees display concerns or fear of moving to packaging the employer threatens the employees of being written up. 3. Employees are wearing re-usable 'frocks' on the floor. During breaks, frocks are hung up on hooks, some hooks holding multiple frocks. The frocks are not cleaned between breaks and employees cannot ensure they are putting on the same frock they had on prior to break. Employees fear the virus is being spread by means of unintentionally sharing equipment. 4. Employees are not properly wearing face masks inside the facility (below their nose and/or mouth) and the employer/supervisors are not ensuring employees are wearing face coverings correctly. 5. Supervisors are giving employees a hard time obtaining a new mask once theirs becomes soiled, wet, or damaged. 6. Some departments, to include but not limited to Frankfurter, where social distancing is not feasible, the employer had installed physical barriers; however, the barriers have been removed. 7. Management and supervisors are not ensuring employees are washing their hands prior to entering the production floor. 8. There are slip and fall hazards near the cooler in the Smokehouse department caused from oil dripping on the floor. The employer is not ensuring the oil is cleaned up in a timely manner.
