Salon has had multiple instances of employees contracting COVID-19 and other employees feel unsafe with the way the salon is handling the issue. Several times in late spring/early summer, the salon simply told the positive employees not to come back to work without telling their other staff that they came into contact with a positive case. Most recently, the salon issued an internal statement that one staff member had tested positive for COVID, but that no other employees needed to quarantine because all interactions this staff member had with other staff was under 15 minutes, masked, and 6 feet apart. However, this is not true. All the clients this staff member cut hair for would have been in close contact for at least 30 minutes. In the break room, this staff would have had close contact with other staff because the break room is too small to maintain 6 feet distance between 3 or more people. And there were definitely 2 other people with this staff member in the break room together. Washing dishes, mixing hair color and more are all activities that are done with less than 6 feet distance. This staff was also seen by other staff with their mask off more than once throughout the day. The salon is telling people who came into contact with the positive individual that they don't need to quarantine. This is simply false and risks the health of their employees and customers.Source: Osha.gov | Receipt Date: 2020-12-05
