1540 East Hospital Drive, Ann Arbor, 48109 Michigan, United States

Employees have been given an assignment where a patient has family members coming into the hospital in which are Covid-19 positive. Some employees have restrictions where they cannot be around people who are positive. Was told that there was no additional PPE that was needed to keep the patients, families and staff safe. One of the family members was on the phone coughing and this was one that was coming into the hospital. The patient rooms have no bathrooms so the family member would have to share a bathroom with other visitors. There are concerns for the patient and staff as employees could not feasibly stay 6 feet away due to the circumstances surrounding this situation. The patient is in a paired assignment with another patient and employees are concerned about the safety of the other patient and family as well as other staff as this was not discussed with staff in shift huddle. Location: NICU.
