Friday, August 7) and Monday (August 10), Tuesday (August 11), Wednesday (August 12) and today (Thursday - August 13) of this week from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. Not only were these field employees not practicing the social distancing (of at least 6 feet), they were not wearing protective face masks. The employees are also not following general safety practices at the site and at the office. Just as recently as 2 weeks ago, 2 laborers contracted COVID-19 (during the swing/graveyard shift) and Frontier Kemper did not inform LA Metro (client). Also, numerous injuries to laborers since May 25, 2020 have not been reported to LA Metro (client) nor OSHA. Employees are not practicing 6 feet social distancing or wearing masks. Everyone is too close. Water is available to wash hands in the restrooms but not in the kitchen. OSHA has already provided a warning letter about portable toilets. I have filed a Fed OSHA whistleblower complaint. I take time off every two weeks. (Complainant was specific this statement be mentioned in the complaint). One employee pulled a pocket knife on me. I reported this to the HR department and the police. About 2 weeks ago, a laborer was struck in the arm by a piece of rebar and was seriously injured. I believe he was hospitalized and his arm was partially fractured. The rebar was in the concrete pad for the vertical headwall for the tunnel boring machine assembly in the vertical shaft.
