The Finance director and the accounts payable supervisor are occupying the office almost every day and are telling the staff they must disregard the Michigan stay at home/stay safe order and be in the building several days a week. Equipment was purchased for all agency staff to work remotely with government funds and finance staff can do 99% of their jobs from home. The exception would be for stuffing envelops for mailing bills. For the other staff who only come into the office for things like this where they must be onsite for a short period and return home, are being exposed needlessly. The agency has about 100 employees, 10 of which have or have had COVID19, one of them is in the finance department and is threatening staff they need to be in the office or they may be fired because they are "at will" employees. The agency Medical Director has also instructed the management team that this problem is needlessly putting lives at risk, and the lives of their families as well. Nothing is being done and staff are terrified.
