Thousands lost power Monday in the Western Tidewater area.
Community Electric Cooperative informed at 10:37 a.m about 4,300 were without power. Mainly affected those in Isle of Wight and Southampton counties and Suffolk, but some outages were also reported in Surry and Sussex counties.

The employer is not implementing precautions to protect employees from contracting and spreading the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the workplace, in that, 1. Employee's that have tested positive for COVID are allowed to remain at work. 5. Retirement employees have to enter the nursing home side to clock in. The nursing home side is currently experiencing an outbreak. 6. The employer is not providing the employee's their medical records related to COVID, to include their test results. 7. Employees administering COVID tests are not wearing gloves. Second complaint received 12/29: 1. Employees that fail initial fit testing for N95 respirators are not re-fit tested with an alternate size or style of N95 respirator.

Employees are exposed to potential combustible peanut dust at the facility where the employer is not following OSHA regulations for the following: - The employer does not have and/or does not implement an effective housekeeping program, resulting in dust accumulations throughout the facility. - Prior to a facility inspection, the employer used compressed air to blow down dust from elevated surfaces, resulting in surfaces being covered in 1 1/2-2" of dust. 3. The portable fire extinguishers are not equipped with visible gauges to ensure they are charged and usable. 4. There are not enough restrooms for the employees. Only one restroom is available on the first floor that is shared between numerous (40+) employees (both male and female). The restrooms are not kept in a clean and sanitary manner.
