1) Employees are potentially exposed to health hazards related to COVID-19. It was reported that mask use is not enforced, employees are not provided with masks or hand sanitizer, and pre-work health screenings are not performed. It was also reported that employees have not been trained on COVID-19 hazards and how to protect themselves. Contrary to 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act. 2) Employees are potentially exposed to fire hazards. It was reported that spark-producing activities (i.e. saw cutting) occur near combustible materials, particularly piles of saw dust that accumulate underneath and around woodworking equipment. Contrary to 29 CFR 1910.22, 1910.213, and 1910.252. 3) Employees are potentially exposed to safety hazards related to unsafe powered industrial truck (PIT) conditions. It was reported that the PIT leaks oil, has not been repaired, and continues to be operated. Contrary to 29 CFR 1910.178. 4) Employees are exposed to safety hazards related to personal protective equipment (PPE). It was reported that a PPE hazard assessment has not been completed for work activities, and employees have not received PPE training. Contrary to 29 CFR 1910.132. 5) Employees are exposed to safety hazards related to lockout tagout (LOTO). It was reported that equipment-specific LOTO procedures have not been developed, and employees who are required to bypass equipment guards to perform servicing have not received authorized employee training. Contrary to 29 CFR 1910.147. 6) Employees are potentially exposed to ergonomic hazards. It was reported that employees are regularly required to lift >50 lbs trash cans into a dumpster, exposing them to musculoskeletal injuries. Contrary to 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act. 7) Employees are potentially exposed to health hazards related to insufficient sanitation onsite.
