4 months ago source cpsc.gov

Recall notice

United States

The Vita-Mix Corporation has issued a recall for over 500,000 of its Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers and blade bases due to a laceration hazard. The recall was announced after the containers were found to potentially separate from the blade base, exposing the blades. The products were sold nationwide, and online at Vitamix, Amazon and QVC from April 2017 through May 2024.

The recalled products include:
- All Ascent and Venturist Series 8-ounce and 20-ounce blending containers and blade bases, even those repaired during a previous recall in August 2018.
- The products are part of various blender models such as the Venturist V1200, Ascent A2300, A2500, A3300, and A3500
- Are also sold separately or in sets.
- The Vitamix logo is printed on the blending container.
- The recall affects about 569,000 units, with an additional 121,950 sold in Canada.

Vitamix has received 27 reports of lacerations, including 11 reports from the prior 2018 recall, when consumers’ hands came in contact with exposed blades. Costco, Best Buy, Crate & Barrel, Macy’s, Target, Williams Sonoma, Walmart and specialty and independent stores nationwide, and online at Vitamix, Amazon and QVC from April 2017 through May 2024 for between $30 and $990 for the blender and blending containers when sold with other products.

If you have this product at home, do not use it and return it to the store where it was purchased.

If you or a loved one are harmed by these products, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enable better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
