Wide Open Distributors Ltd has announced a recall of KNOG Blinder 900 and 1300 bike lights due to a potential battery safety issue that may cause the battery to fail. These products were sold across various retailers in New Zealand from April 1, 2023, to December 1, 2023.AFFECTED PRODUCTS:
- KNOG Blinder 900 & 1300
- Batch Codes: 0423-AA, 0723-AA, 0923-AA, 1123-AA, 1023AA, 0124AA, 0721-AA, 0823-AA, 1023-AA, 1223-AA, 11A23-AA
- The KNOG Blinder 80 StVZO and 120 StVZO models, sold only in Germany, are also included.
- The recall involves lights sold at multiple retailers, including Evo Cycles and Burkes Cycles (you can check the full retailer list in the link down below).
The issue was identified by Knog, who found that early production runs used battery cells prone to failure. The recall was initiated due to the potential risk of a burning battery. The classification date and recall class were not specified.
