Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative (MVEC) worked to initially cut power to the lines and then cut the lines down to allow for traffic flow. Area residents noticed a very brief power outage at about 3:20 a.m., possibly in connection with the crash. A prolonged outage in direct correlation to the crash started at about 3:55 a.m. and was restored for most of the 334 customers without power by about 6:15 a.m, according to MVEC.
