On a late Friday afternoon, the West End of Clallam County plunged into darkness, as a significant power outage impacted approximately 5,600 customers of the Clallam Public Utility District (PUD).

A power outage was reported in Port Angeles City Thursday morning. More than 260 customers were affected. According to the Clallam County PUD No 1 outage map, there are 8,962 customers affected by power outages at this moment in Clallam County.

Authorities have issued a boil water advisory for customers in the McDougal Street area of Port Angeles due to a main break. This break impacts approximately 102 water utility customers in this area.

As of Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at 4:17 a.m., the boil water notice is lifted for Port Angeles. The City issued the boil water notice out of an abundance of caution to all water utility customers. Samples taken on Monday, August 28th.
