A power outage affecting more than 4,900 people in Moab lasted for nearly three hours on August 5; the outage was first reported at 6:38 p.m. and returned around 9:30 p.m., according to Rocky Mountain Power’s outage map. The outage was caused by a damaged line.

The Aug. 20 flooding in downtown Moab caused temporary water outages in several areas of the city. Service was restored within one to two days to most affected customers, however, City crews are still working to repair a broken water line on 100 West and 100 South.When

service is restored, the water will not be safe to drink for several days while final testing is completed. A boil order has been issued to those customers. Residents and businesses on West Center Street west of 100 West, the south end of 100 West, and three Main Street businesses are the only customers who were still without water as of Aug. 23. No other City of Moab water customers are affected.
