East Providence police said a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Monday 13th evening. According to fire crews, wires were taken down from impact, causing trees and the car to catch fire. Power outages were reported in the Riverside section of the city.

About 14,616 customers were affected by an outage in the City of East Providence for about 100 minutes on Thursday morning. According to Rhode Island Energy, the outage was caused by animal contact with equipment at a substation. Power is already restored to the area.
