Nearly 2,000 Duke Energy customers were without power in Uptown Friday night, according to the company’s outage map. The outage began around 6:30 p.m. and impacted those in the First Ward area.
An estimated of 500 customers were affected by an outage including traffic lights in the Clanton Park and Sedgefield neighborhoods in Charlotte. According to Duke Energy’s outage map, power was restored to most of the customers in the area by 8 a.m.
