A power outage in Elmira left downtown and around 800 customers in the dark Friday morning, Mar 15 after an unexpected animal caused a problem at the substation. A portion of Downtown Elmira was without power Saturday afternoon. According to the NYSEG outage map, over 400 customers were without power. Southport, Ashland, and Wellsburg areas – 7:15 p.m. estimated restoration
