crew entered with a sergeant arount 1620, wearing protective suits and respirators. After they left, an employeenoticed lung irritation and a headache, both building in intensity as time passed and eventually a stomachache began as well. The employee contacted the sergeant to report their reaction to the chemical fumes around 1700, also asking for the MSDS sheets about the chemicals in case medical treatment was needed. The sergeant said they would check for the employee and advised that one of the shift lieutenants be informed. The lieutenant instructed the employee prop the door open and have someone stand outside the door as additional security. Some fans were placed and turned on. The employee was able to step outside briefly at this time once another employee returned, and the fresh air eased some of the reactions. The employee asked about filling out OSHA forms and had some difficulty; management seemed unfamiliar with the process and the employee contacted several of them, but they did not complete the proper paperwork. The following day, the employee woke with a lot of chest congestion, developing a cough, headache, and stomachache that grew in intensity over time. The employee contacted Louisville OSHA Compliance, who helped with the paperwork and set up medical treatment for them. They were treated for their reactions and tested due to COVID-19 exposure. The workplace never provided the MSDS sheet that was requested, never told the name of the cleaning company, where they cleaned, or what chemical was used to clean.
