One large area stretched from West 47th Avenue south past Shawnee Mission Parkway. That outage was first reported at 3:45 a.m. and took multiple hours to be resolved. By 7 a.m., west of the metro in Douglas County was where the majority of concentrated power outages still stood, with 1,245 customers affected.

Meanwhile, Evergy was reporting outages were affecting 1,857 customers in Jackson County and 1,618 customers in Johnson County. There were 224 customers without power in Clay County and 23 customers without electricity in Platte County.

Evergy reported Wednesday morning that overnight storms caused upwards of 75,000 outages, the majority of which were in and around Kansas City. By 7 a.m. Wednesday morning Evergy was reporting 1,058 outages in and around Topeka, leaving 52,569 customers without power.
