Two power poles simultaneously caught fire in a Pocatello neighborhood on Sunday night. One of the power poles is along West Elm Street between Roosevelt and Taft avenues and the other is about 50 yards away in an alley off West Elm between McKinley and Roosevelt avenues.

Around 10:15 p.m. Sunday the flames apparently spread to the power lines attached to the poles, causing a power outage for more than 1,500 Idaho Power customers throughout Pocatello.
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rocky Mountain Power reports 10 outages in areas like Lava Hot Springs, Arimo and other parts of Bannock County. In total, about 2,700 customers are without power.
In Pocatello, Idaho Power reports 2,368 people are without power due to the winds.
The utility reported that 2,600 customers were initially without power, and the vast majority of the homes had power restored in under an hour. The vast majority of the outages were in the Buckskin Road area or on the east bench in the vicinity of Jakers Bar

Nearly 500 Idaho Power customers in the downtown area and west Pocatello were temporarily without electricity on Sunday night after a power pole fire and downed power line.
Outage leaves much of Pocatello area without electricity . The outage occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday and has left eastern Pocatello and areas east of the city without electricity.
1) Employees who have tested positive for COVID-19 continue to work and not self-quarantine. 2) COVID-19 cleaning procedures are not followed. 3) There are no masks worn in the food prep area and kitchen.
