I received a green Tory Burch bag in the mail that I did not order. It says it’s from DANNY. Address is walnut ca. I’ve seen other reports of this. What do I do??

I ordered Vans from an Instagram ad, and I just received a Tory Burch purse from 4900 E. 49th St., Vernon, CA 90058. Never received the Vans. This must be the connection. Thanks for helping me put this together. Weird.

I fell for this same scam (discounted vans from fraud ad on Instagram) and just received a fake black jaquemus bag but no charges on my credit card since I reported it immediately to my credit card provider no sketchy charges

This scam is called "brushing". It involves sending out an order to your address followed by the seller faking up a positive review, possibly on Amazon and possibly using your name. The merchandise is simply being sent as a mechanism to allow the creation of a review.

There's honestly no need for sellers to resort to "brushing" when they can participate in Amazon's Vine program and request legitimate reviews from Vine reviewers. Amazon Vine does the exact same thing as brushing, but it is legitimately supported by Amazon, where "brushing" could be enough to get the seller's account suspended.

If you believe the package was sent by Amazon, you should report it to Amazon along with the package tracking number.

I haven’t ordered anything but randomly got these earmuffs. Was hoping it was due to those secret random shopper things that no one knows why they are picked but you get random items with seller hoping you will review but they never give enough info to review. One of my friends has gotten humidifiers, Bluetooth headphones and all kinds of things for free from it with no reason why but all from Amazon and nothing charged or on their account.
